"Land Of Doom" is the first demo realized by Planar Evil. Their sound reminds me something from the bands of the first 80's, a mix of Venom and Slayer ("Hell Awaits" era). The feeling of their songs is very "dark" and "evil". I have appreciated the band's attitude but they should improve the songwriting. Too many riffs on "Land Of Doom" demo have been played thousand times before by other bands and the original impact of these riffs now is lost. The main riff of the title track is one of the best riff of the whole work and they should follow this way instead for example of the riffing of "God Illusion" (it seems "already heard" to me).
About the voice, Mark sometimes seems to sing in a Cronos-style and sometimes the voice sounds more thrashy, but I think he should give to his vocal style more dynamics. The risk is to make the songs flat!!
Finally I recommed to the band to play live as much as possible to improve their songwriting and to work on the riffs!!
